Kevin Costner Addresses Fans And Confirms ‘Yellowstone’ Status
Yellowstone fans have been waiting to hear about which cast members will be returning for the final episodes of the beloved show this fall. There has been a lot of uncertainty surrounding Kevin Costner and the future of his character in the drama series. However, Costner has laid all of the rumors to rest and addressed fans’ questions. Keep reading to see what he has to say.
Taylor Sheridan & Kevin Costner Butted Heads On Set
Costner has played John Dutton III on Yellowstone for the last several years. He first appeared in the series in 2018. Then, during the 2023 Hollywood writer’s strike, production of the fifth season screeched to a halt. At the time, Paramount announced that it would be at least one year before Yellowstone would return.
On top of the writer’s strike, there were allegedly tensions on the set between Kevin Costner and the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan. The award-winning actor was trying to figure out how to best manage his time between Yellowstone and directing his new film Horizon: An American Saga.
Despite rumors, Costner has said that he always “made Yellowstone the first priority, and to insinuate anything else would be wrong.” Not long ago, he spoke with Savannah Guthrie on Today and said that he would be open to returning to Yellowstone. Ultimately, the ball was in Sheridan’s court.
Now, Kevin Costner is on a press tour for his upcoming film Horizon: An American Saga. Part One of the four-part film series is set to make its debut on the big screen next week.
