‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Cast Hints At Future Ahead Of ‘Best Season Yet’
There are big rumors that 9-1-1: Lone Star is ending after its fifth season. Some of the cast members have complained about the options not being renewed, and Sierra McClain has exited the series as a result. The show is also the last 20th Century Fox show on the network since the Disney/Fox merger.
However, when asked about whether this is the final season, many cast members have hinted it might be but said this will also be the “best season yet” of the hit TV show. Here is what you need to know.
Is 9-1-1: Lone Star Ending After Season 5?
With Sierra McClain (Grace Ryder) leaving 9-1-1: Lone Star after failed cast renewals, the rumors that the show is ending heated up. None of the cast could get the renegotiations sought, which usually means a show is about to end. However, when talking to the cast, they have big things to say about Season 5.
Rafael Silva (Carlos Reyes) responded to the news that Fox was planning to cancel 9-1-1: Lone Star. When the news broke, he took to Instagram Stories to post that “Wherever the ship sails, [I’m] grateful for the family I’ve created on this show.” Ruben Rubinstein (T.K. Strand) reminded fans that Fox has not decided yet on the show’s fate.
“One thing I do know for certain is we will continue pouring our blood, sweat, and tears into these last few episodes and deliver to you our most special season yet,” Rubinstein said. “I better see all of you in September.”
What Happens If 9-1-1: Lone Star Is Canceled?
There are some rumors that many of the 9-1-1: Lone Star cast members are already sending out feelers and looking for other work. The remaining cast is locked into options until July 19, so if the show is brought back, they would have to back out of any agreements they might find.
However, if the show is canceled, fans will have one last season to enjoy these storylines, characters, and cast. If Fox cancels 9-1-1: Lone Star, fans hope the showrunners will finish the series with a legitimate finale. This didn’t happen for NCIS: Hawai’i or CSI: Las Vegas. However, Blue Bloods got notice and will have a season to finish its series.
If 9-1-1: Lone Star does end, one person who will stick around is Rob Lowe. He has a first-look agreement with Fox for future TV shows. He also would likely be the first to return if the show ends up surprisingly renewed.
