Vanderpump Rules Big Changes Shaking Up Season 12?

Around this time of year, the cast of Vanderpump Rules should be filming or getting ready to film the upcoming season. That is not happening as production thought a pause was absolutely necessary. It also seems fans agree after a lackluster season and a frustrating reunion. The hope is that the cast can move away from ‘Scandoval,’ take time to breathe, go on new adventures, and bring fresh content. Additionally, Ariana Madix has a full summer with her hosting gig on Love Island and another stint as Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway.

With Ariana’s future on the show up in the air and viewers against Lala Kent and Scheana Shay, what is the plan for when the show returns? Some are wondering if it will even be back as the season finale played more like a series finale. There was a montage of the cast showing them when they started and where they are now. According to The Sun, showrunner Alex Baskin says this is a common concern but it is not the first time he has heard this:

“Obviously there’s been a lot of speculation. People have written the show’s final chapter many times, and the show has continued. So just because it’s a reflective moment that clearly marks the end of one chapter does not necessarily mean that it is the end of the show.”

Alex added that the cast needs time to “reset” and then they will reevaluate where everyone stands:

“I think we’re going to take a full look at what the group looks like in a period of time and figure out what we want to do next. And that may mean that certain people have to make decisions as well.”

When it comes to Ariana Madix’s Vanderpump Rules future, the showrunner claims that they are in full support of whatever she chooses. So, she can come back if she wants to or pursue other endeavors. He did note that the cast may look a little new and fresh when the show returns.

A Renovation

Vanderpump Rules has seen people come and go. They have brought in new faces and some have stuck but others failed. Yet, many fans want to get back to the core of where the show began and that was SUR. Alex Baskin feels that most of the core cast could return with a mix of some newbies. Lisa Vanderpump was just on the Call Her Daddy podcast. Host Alexandra Cooper suggested that she move the current cast to a new show. Then, start from scratch with all of the young SUR employees which delighted LVP as it was already an idea in progress.

So far, a few of the cast members would like to head to The Valley but apparently, that cast is full. So, they may make guest appearances but nothing will change for Season 2.
