‘9-1-1’ Peter Krause Talks Shocking Season 7 Finale
The 9-1-1 season finale had fans on the edges of their seats. In the penultimate episode, Captain Bobby Nash gave his notice to leave his job. He then watched his house go up in flames. He pulled his wife, Athena Grant (Angela Bassett), out but then collapsed and ended up in a coma.
Here is how 9-1-1 dealt with Bobby’s story and what is next.
What Happened In 9-1-1 Season Finale?
The 9-1-1 season finale showed Athena waking up in the hospital and then asking where he husband was. She went to his room and saw he was in a coma and his recovery was questionable. It shook her up and she began to wonder if she could go on without him. However, she tried and returned to work.
Athena went to find the nurse, Amir (Malcolm-Jamal Warner), who she believed set the house fire. Fortunately, he didn’t and was innocent. The real people to blame were a cartel that Amir and Bobby had crossed in an earlier episode. She found Amir and saw the cartel had kidnapped him and planned to kill him. Athena saved Amir’s life and brought down the cartel.
Right after Amir said he was sorry about what happened to Bobby, Athena’s phone rang. It was news about Bobby. She raced to the hospital and saw Bobby was on his feet. Amir’s family died in a fire that Bobby had caused 10 years earlier. He said he would never forgive him, but he appreciated that he became a better person and hopes he continues to do so.
This means that Amir wants Bobby to return to his job at the fire department. Actor Peter Krause talked about the possibility.
Peter Krause Talks 9-1-1 Season Finale & Bobby’s Future
Peter Krause said that he loved taking on the role of Bobby in 9-1-1, a show he calls a “comic book come to life about first responders.” However, this episode provided something different for the actor.
“I’m a big fan of the splashy entertainment, the wild and wacky emergencies. But I’m also really happy to see us delve into people’s personal lives,” Krause said (via PEOPLE). However, just because this show had a happy ending, it does not mean Bobby’s future is bright. He has to win his job back because Captain Gerrard (Brian Thompson) had taken the position. Krause went on to add:
“I don’t know exactly what is in store, but I’m assuming that Bobby will have to go through some things to regain his captainship. What those things are, I don’t know.”
He also said there is a chance he could end up as a probie again, and joked the rest of the fire team would enjoy that if it happened.
