As for the big stars, several of them are coming and they represent from just about every era of music over the last few decades. Guest coach and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Jon Bon Jovi will appear. Also appearing on the three-hour finale will be Nick Fradiani, New Kids On The Block, Jason Mraz, Hootie And The Blowfish, Cece Winans, James Bay, Wynonna Judd, Seal, Bishop Briggs, and Cody Johnson.

There are three competitors left heading into the finale. Will Moseley, Abu Carter, and Jack Blocker will compete for this year’s top prize as the next American Idol champion. Triston Harper and Emmy Russell were the last two eliminated.

American Idol airs its finale tonight at 8/7c on ABC and it will stream tomorrow on Hulu.

Why Is Katy Perry Leaving American Idol?

Katy Perry shocked the world when she told Jimmy Kimmell she was leaving American Idol. She hadn’t even told her fellow judges yet when she sprung the announcement on the late-night talk show.

Katy has hinted at the reason for the exit. She wants to release some new music and then go on a world tour. Katy mentioned that she missed touring and making music and taking a break from the reality TV show gives her that change. She also plans to take her child with her to show them the world as well.

However, this doesn’t mean Katy Perry isn’t returning to American Idol. She said that her replacement was just keeping her “chair warm.” It sounds like she plans to return after finishing her world tour and album release. However, the show plans a big farewell tonight. If she doesn’t return, this is a good chance to celebrate her time on the show.
