Did Pumpkin & Josh Efird Create Fake Company For PPP Loan?
Did Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird and her husband, Josh Efird create a fake company to obtain a PPP loan? Though she and her sister, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson have a legit business now, something was off a few years back. What was going on and what kind of company did the couple allegedly have? Keep reading for more details.
Did Pumpkin & Josh Efird Create Fake Company For PPP Loan?
Fans have long wondered what Josh Efird’s actual job was aside from being on reality television. He had supposedly worked with Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson’s father, Sugar Bear. Yet, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird revealed that was untrue and it was just a storyline for the show. Pumpkin has made money on social media and recently started a business with her sisters, The Sisters Closet. They sell their own merch as well as inexpensive stuff they buy from other companies. Then, they jack up the prices.
However, it seems Pumpkin and Josh may have had another business that they never spoke about. A Reddit thread was started regarding a PPP loan that the couple obtained during the pandemic. It was for a taxi transportation business that they supposedly had but it is not in existence. The OP wrote this:
- Pumpkin & Josh got PPP loans during pandemic. They don’t have a taxi transportation business. Guess that’s why Josh told Dralin to lie on his resume on the show. Maybe they put him down as a employee driving Alana & all the kids around.
They also shared this link to a TikTok which showed all of the information about the loan, the company, and how much they each got. It totaled around $40K and if one lies on their application, they could be charged with a “federal crime.” More so, they could face up to 30 years in prison or more. So, what did followers have to say?
- Wow, they could go down for this
- To get $40,000 they must have told a whopper of a lie.
- These people and their fraudulent PPP loans sicken me!!
- May she and he rot in jail

Lying To Get Something
As a follower noted in a comment, when Alana Thompson’s boyfriend, Dralin Carswell was filling out job applications, Josh Efird was helping him. However, he was encouraging him to stretch the truth as to his past work history. Therefore, fans believe that this is exactly what the couple did in order to get this loan. Now, people are questioning why they were always broke if they received $40K plus had the show. Time will tell if they will ever answer for this loan and how they got it or if they had a tax business.
Are you shocked that they lied to get a PPP loan or does nothing surprise you about them anymore? Let us know in the comments below.
