‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Tammy Slaton Earns Praise From Dr. Smith
1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton is happy and enjoying her life now that she’s on a better life path. After overcoming many obstacles and shifting her mindset, Tammy qualified for bariatric surgery. But she knows that’s only part of the battle. Now, she has to continue making the right choices.
In the show’s off-season, Tammy is pretty active on social media. Although TikTok seems to be her favorite platform, she occasionally shares updates with her fans on Instagram.
In a recent post, she received plenty of praise from fans. But her bariatric surgeon Dr. Smith also had something kind to say. Keep reading to get the scoop.
Tammy Slaton Proudly Displays Her Progress On Social Media
Many patients who receive bariatric surgery aren’t able to keep up with necessary lifestyle changes, which sometimes stretches their stomachs back out. Many 1000-Lb Sisters fans were concerned for Tammy Slaton after she underwent surgery. But thankfully, it seems that she’s still making amazing progress.
And people are taking notice!
In a new Instagram post, Tammy revealed she adopted a pregnant black cat. She shared a photo of her new furbaby, bringing a beautiful smile to her face. Fans agreed that the TLC star seemed to glow with her new pet.

But perhaps one of the best comments came from Tammy’s bariatric surgeon, Dr. Eric Smith. He wrote, “You are killing it!”
Dr. Smith Has Seen The TLC Star At Her Absolute Worst
Avid 1000-Lb Sisters fans know that Dr. Smith has been around for Tammy, even when she seemed to hit rock bottom. In one season, he made a house call and convinced Tammy to consider rehab. After she completed rehab, Dr. Smith happily performed her surgery.
Now, it seems he’s truly invested in her and her family’s progress. Several weeks ago, Dr. Smith even gave Tammy’s brother Chris a special shoutout on his Instagram page.
“Remember when riding a rollercoaster for the first time was a big deal for @chris.combs.5243? Well, Chris just left that thrill in the dust by finishing his first 5k this past weekend! 🏅” Dr. Smith shared. “I know I tell you this all the time buddy, but your post-surgery journey and hard work have been nothing short of spectacular. Cheers to many more firsts!”

So far, TLC hasn’t said much about 1000-Lb Sisters returning for another season. But fans would absolutely love to see the family back on their screens.
