‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Pat Sajak Winces At Contestant’s Big Loss
When contestants make their way through several successful puzzles but miss out on big wins, it can be brutal. On Wheel Of Fortune, Pat Sajak tries to soften the blow when one contestant fights his way through but loses out on a big win.
Pat Sajak Recognizes Cairo Hunter’s Successes
During a recent episode of Wheel Of Fortune, Cairo Hunter had several notable puzzles solved. For instance, in Same Letter, he incorrectly guesses “Galactics Gadgets Gizmos.” However, when his turn cycles back around he correctly identifies the puzzle as, “Galaxies Gadgets Gizmos.” Then encouraging, Pat Sajak says, “If at first, you don’t succeed, try, try again. Although, that could be our next puzzle. I may have screwed that up.” Then in Fun & Games, Cairo made the correct guess, “Performing in a Talent Show.” Pat quickly compliments, “Very nice.” Given that, he took home a Disney Cruise Line vacation to the Caribbean featuring Marvel Day at Sea, worth $11,667.
Cairo Hunter’s Bonus Slips Through His Fingers
On March 18, Cairo Hunter entered the Wheel Of Fortune Bonus Round with base winnings of $28,267 before the round began. With the choices for the bonus round category: “Phrase,” “Thing,” and “Living Things,” he picked “Phrase.” Then he selects consonants H, M, and G and the vowel A to start. Surprisingly almost completing the puzzle, Cairo had to quickly sort through his guesses. Likewise, he was staring at the puzzle: “THE_/ HA_E /G_ _ _ / _ _AL_T_ES.” Undeniably trying to speed solve with the 10 seconds, he gets out, “They Have Good…” However, time expires before he can finish.
Pat Sajak Winces At The Loss
“You got three-quarters of it,” Pat Sajak remarks. “They have good something,” Pat reiterates. Then reveals the full answer: “They Have Good Qualities.” Although disappointed, Pat continues saying, “We have to look in here,” referring to the envelope. After glancing, at the prize not won, Pat tucks it under his arm and says “Wow.” Before revealing the loss, Pat prefaces, “So the important thing is that he’s won $28,267.”
Then hesitantly says, “I guess there’s no putting this off.” Sadly, wincing, Pat unveils that Cairo’s prize would have been $100,000.“ After the stun factor and groans from the audience, Pat asks, “Well, how do you think I feel?” Then addresses Cairo, “And him. You had a big night. You should be very pleased. Twenty-eight thousand plus, nice going.” Following, Pat shakes his hand to congratulate him on what he won.
