Fans have been calling out Wheel Of Fortune for its difficult bonus prize puzzles recently. In recent episodes, many contestants have lost out on their bonus prizes due to hard puzzles. Gary and Laura missed their chance at $40,000 after struggling to solve their bonus puzzle. Viewers believe the answer was “questionable,” at best. Continue reading to see why Wheel Of Fortune fans are so upset by the outcome.

Gary & Laura Lose $40K On Wheel Of Fortune

Gary and Laura joined a long line of Wheel Of Fortune contestants who lost their bonus puzzle recently. The couple appeared on the game show during Sweethearts Week, which takes place the week of Valentine’s Day each year. This special spin on the Wheel puts couples up against each other.

Each couple shared their story, and Gary and Laura came out as the big winners, moving on to the bonus puzzle. The couple, who share two children and have been married for 30 years, had already won $16,349 and a trip to Ireland. Moving into the bonus round, they chose “Place” as their category.

On top of the “RLSTNE” that all contestants are given in the bonus round, Gary and Laura chose “WDMI” to help with solving the puzzle. Unfortunately, their letter choices didn’t assist them at all. “Welp, those are very nice letters,” Wheel Of Fortune host Pat Sajak joked. The puzzle board read “_ _ TER / L _ _ _ _” and the timer began counting down.

The pair didn’t have a single guess as to what the answer might be. After the ten seconds passed, the board displayed the completed puzzle as “Outer Lobby.” Despite the devastating loss, Gary and Laura remained good sports when Pat revealed they lost $40,000.

WOF Fans Are Tired Of The Difficult Bonus Puzzles

This upset sent viewers reeling. Many of them took to social media to express their disappointment with the puzzle answer. Not only was it not romance-related, but it seemed like a stretch for the “Place” category as well.

One fan wrote on X, “#wheeloffortune what the hell is an ‘outer lobby’ ???  Stop coming up with these weird combos so no one wins.” Another viewer agreed, “Outer Lobby”??? When have those two words EVER been used together??? What??” A third fan chimed in, “I just got mad at Wheel of Fortune on the bar TV.”

Recently, it seems like the bonus puzzles have been harder and harder to solve. The Wheel Of Fortune audience turned on Pat Sajak earlier in the week when another couple, Tom and Greg, missed their bonus puzzle and lost $40,000.

Noticing the booing from the crowd after the pair missed the puzzle, Pat addressed the audience. “Hey! They’re going to France and they got fifteen thousand dollars,” he yelled over the objections from the studio.

  1. I don’t even watch the show no more, it’s a joke, that why the bonus round is the hardest one, stuff you never heard of. Wheel Of Fortune is a joke.

  2. All those game shows are set up for some to lose. Pat needs to just leave already, let’s make a deal and wheel of fortune to all needs to go.‼️‼️🤬🤬

  3. My husband and I have watched Wheel forever; we are members with a ‘number’ yet!
Lately, we have been disgusted as we notice the difficulty of answers; some puzzles are given more clues/letters than others.
    Very surprising and disappointing.
Will it change after Pat is gone???
