Schwartz & Sandy’s Bans ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Cameras, Why?
It appears that Schwartz & Sandy’s has banned Vanderpump Rules cameras from the establishment but why? Two of the key cast members co-own the restaurant-bar so do they have any say in the matter? Read on for more details on the whole situation.
Schwartz & Sandy’s Bans Vanderpump Rules Cameras, Why?
For some time, it has been alleged that Tom Sandoval is no longer wanted at Schwartz & Sandy’s. The staff loves Tom Schwartz and feels he is very welcoming. Yet, Sandoval does not give off the same vibe which has been a problem. During Season 9 of Vanderpump Rules, there was a lot of drama centered around the name of the bar. Schwartz’s dedication and disregard for his now ex-wife, Katie Maloney was the nail in the coffin and led to their demise. Then, Season 10 showed the guys trying to get the bar off the ground but they kept facing setbacks and losing more money.
It did finally open but then ‘Scandoval’ happened and both Schwartz & Sandy’s and TomTom took a hit. They had to release statements that what Sandoval did was not a reflection of their businesses. More so, they had faithful employees who needed to work and pay their bills. Now, it seems that Tom Sandoval’s antics have cost them the right to film at Schwartz & Sandy’s after all of the hype. According to The Sun, production is now allowed to film inside the establishment.
An insider shared this information:
“Production was banned from filming at Schwartz & Sandy’s for season 11 because there was so much toxicity that was aimed at the restaurant. The abundant amount of toxicity aimed at the restaurant led to many issues with staff, whether it was working there for the wrong reasons, like, trying to get camera attention or added pressure they received while trying to serve the guests.”
Greg Morris, whom viewers saw from the inception of Schwartz & Sandy’s, was the one who made the call. He is part owner of the restaurant and the one who had been the hardest to please all along. However, he had to put his foot down for the sake of the business.
No Cameras Allowed
Greg Morris made the executive decision for Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules that they would not be filming. The insider further added:
“Greg took control and did not allow cameras to film at Schwartz & Sandy’s because he felt like the restaurant and everyone who worked there was unfairly targeted. S&S took a big hit and Greg thought filming there would ruin the business more than it had already been ruined post-Scandoval.”
This is abundantly clear that the bar is not on the show based on the opening credits where the two Toms are toasting at TomTom. Plus, the first big event was at TomTom, as well but that could have been a full-circle moment for Ariana Madix as that is where she learned about the affair. Tom Schwartz did wear a Schwartz & Sandy’s hat when he went out with James Kennedy. Yet, he did acknowledge how tainted it had become.
Do you think they should still film there despite the scandal since viewers are invested? Let us know your thoughts and watch Vanderpump Rules Tuesdays on Bravo.
