‘Southern Charm’ Olivia & Austen’s Romance Staged For TV?
Was Southern Charm’s Olivia Flowers and Austen Kroll’s romance staged for television or was it genuine? Fans of the hit Bravo series, which just wrapped Season 9, seem to believe that it was not real. So, what else did they have to say and why do they feel it it was fake? Read on for more details.
Southern Charm Olivia & Austen’s Romance Staged For TV?
Olivia Flowers came onto the Southern Charm scene in Season 8 as someone who was casually dating Austen Kroll. They seemed to get along fairly well but it was also interesting timing as he had come off of his hardcore romance with Madison LeCroy. Furthermore, LeCroy had found someone new in Brett Randle and announced her engagement that same season. Then, by Season 9, Olivia and Austen were done and he contemplated a romance with Taylor Ann Green. She had just come off of a two-year relationship with Shep Rose who had been cheating on her.
Therefore, she was leaning on Austen despite having a super close friendship with Olivia. It was the ultimate betrayal yet Madison felt that he was actually in love with Taylor. Now fans are thinking that the Olivia/Austen romance was not legit. This prompted a Reddit thread to start with the OP writing:
- Am I the only one that thought Austen and Olivia was for tv? I saw zero chemistry. I thought that “relationship” was to add Olivia to the cast. I thought this was the consensus.
They also added that if this was true, Taylor did nothing wrong. Additionally, they feel that Olivia may have just needed a storyline so that’s why she got mad about the kiss. Finally, they noted Olivia believed Austen was obsessed with Madison so that’s why it never could have been a real romance. Did others agree?
- Olivia and Austen dating in the off-season is as funny as can be. Like of course they want us to believe that all the “chemistry” and “magic” happens when we can’t actually see it!
-
Zero chemistry.
- I agree I didn’t realize last season they were in a relationship.
The Truth Is…
Some Southern Charm fans say that Olivia Flowers’ parents got her on the show. Then, others believed that she was simply a rebound from Madison LeCroy for Austen Kroll. Yet, one common theme was how they claimed to travel a lot together yet it was always when the show was not filming. Therefore, how could fans see what was going on if it was never shown?
Do you believe that Olivia Flowers and Austen Kroll’s romance was genuine or just a storyline to get her on the show? Or, was it to make Madison jealous? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
