On The Heels Of A Lawsuit

This 90-episode renewal comes as a surprise to some as A&E was seemingly looking to get the show taken out just six months ago. As Deadline previously reported, A&E took both Reelz and Big Fish to court. The network claimed On Patrol: Live was a “clone” of Live PD. Furthermore, A&E accused both Reelz and Big Fish of copyright infringement.

The legal team of Big Fish attempted to have the case thrown out. The company argued the lawsuit was “meritless” and petitioned the court to have the case dismissed. Unfortunately, the judge did not grant the motion for the case to be dismissed.

Now, this all took place in July of last year and there hasn’t been much of an update on the situation since. Just that the judge left the door open for A&E to take Big Fish and Reelz to court over the matter.

Fans of On Patrol: Live can only assume Reelz and Big Fish feel pretty confident about the situation. After all Season 2 is only halfway through the 90-episode order amid the series being renewed for Season 3.

On Patrol: Live Season 3: What About Sticks?

As TV Shows Ace previously reported, fans have already begun discussing who would serve as a good replacement for Sergeant Sean “Sticks” Larkin. On Facebook, fans are happy with the return of Sticks and hope he comes back for Season 3.

On Reddit, however, fans prefer the show having a rotating co-host versus Sticks having a permanent chair. At this time, there hasn’t been any information released on what hosts will be returning with Season 3.

  1. My Wife and I watch EVERY episode of On Patrol Live that they broadcast. The 3 hour show is a bit much for a single viewing so I record them in 1.5hr segments and we watch them that way, ie, that makes 4 shows out of 2.

I do hope they stay on for several more years!!

    Just saying……………….
