Kelly Clarkson Reveals Why She’s Done With ‘The Voice’
Kelly Clarkson has made a lot of changes to her life lately. Now she reveals why she’s done with The Voice. Keep reading for all the details surrounding the decision.
Kelly Clarkson Shows Off Weight Loss
The last few years have been difficult for Kelly Clarkson. The singer filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock in 2020. It took two years for the former couple to reach a settlement, fighting over custody and property.
Just when Clarkson thought things were settling down, her daytime talk show faced toxic workplace allegations. Around the same time, she made the shocking announcement that The Kelly Clarkson Show was leaving L.A. to take up residency in New York City’s famed 30 Rock.

Her Talk Show Kicks Off Season 5 With Kellyoke
The Kelly Clarkson Show made its highly-anticipated debut in 2019. The daytime talk show was everything fans dreamed of and more.
In addition to chatting with other celebrities, Clarkson performs cover songs across all genres on the immensely popular Kellyoke segment.
Due to the WGA strike, Clarkson’s talk show shut down production of Season 4 early. However, in an interview with USA Today, she defended Drew Barrymore and other shows that initially planned to return amid the strike.
“That’s gotta be the hard decision, and it sucks. I don’t think people realize, with a lot of the people that got blowback, the stress of that decision,” – Kelly Clarkson, USA Today.
Barrymore, in particular, faced massive backlash for announcing she would resume production of her eponymous talk show. However, after the public’s negative reaction, she changed course and decided the show would stay dark.
The strike ended 10 days later, but it remains to be seen if Barrymore’s reputation recovers from the fallout.
Season 5 of The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered earlier this week from the new studio in NYC. In her first Season 5 Kellyoke, the singer paid tribute to the Big Apple by walking around the city, including around the famed Atlas statue.
Instead of covering a song from another artist, Kelly Clarkson opened the show with her new single, “I Won’t Give Up.”
Kelly Clarkson Reveals Why She’s Done With The Voice
Kelly Clarkson has undergone a lot of changes in the last few years but so has NBC’s The Voice. After 12 years as a coach, Blake Shelton announced in 2022 that Season 23 was his last season.
The network brought in legendary country singer Reba McEntire to replace him.
While not an OG like Shelton, Kelly Clarkson was a coach for Seasons 14 through 21. She took Season 22 off and returned for Season 23.
However, in her recent interview with USA Today, Clarkson revealed that she is done with The Voice. Why?
The singer revealed that part of her move from L.A. to NYC was her “saying ‘bye’ to ‘The Voice.'”
She explained, “I love that family, but I was like, ‘I’m struggling. I can’t smile anymore. I don’t feel like smiling.'”
Of course, there’s always a chance she could return as a guest mentor in the future, but it sounds like she is done with The Voice as a full-time coach.
