‘Big Brother’ Julie Chen Leaving After 23 Years?
With Big Brother Season 25 preparing to air on CBS in August, Julie Chen Moonves is hinting at when she might be ready to leave the reality TV franchise. In a recent interview, Julie opened up about her time on the show and admitted that she will know when it is time to step down as the host.
Here is what Julie Chen Moonves said about the chances of her leaving Big Brother and when that might happen.
Julie Chen talks leaving Big Brother
Julie Chen Moonves, 53, has hosted Big Brother since the show premiered in July 2000. Entering her 23rd year and 25th season as the host of the reality TV show, many fans are wondering when she might be thinking of stepping down. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Julie addressed when she might consider leaving the popular CBS reality series.
When Julie started out as the Big Brother host, she was also working as a news reader on CBS’ The Early Show. She mentioned she was doing both jobs for several years and that was okay because she was younger at the time. However, she said it only took her a few seasons to really get into the groove as the Big Brother host. Things also got easier when she joined The Talk instead of The Early Show because both were on the same lot.
In the interview, Julie said she has no plans on quitting Big Brother yet. However, she did say that she will know when it is time. She looks at how she is feeling each morning, and how her joints, hips, and knees feel each day. She then said she will take it one season at a time, but for now, she doesn’t want it to end.
“I think there would have to be a few things [to make me step away], like if I feel like the public is getting tired of me or the show is not what I want it to be,” Julie said. However, she also pointed out that producers Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan have a strong grasp on the show and things are just getting better.
