Will Tammy Slaton Fall Off The Wagon Amid Caleb’s Death?
Can Tammy Slaton stick to her goals while grieving the loss of her estranged husband?
1000-Lb Sisters fans were shocked to learn that Caleb Willingham recently passed away at the young age of 40. He and Tammy were reportedly in the middle of divorcing, despite marrying at the end of Season 4.
Losing a spouse is generally a difficult time, even if the pair were estranged. Now, many 1000-Lb Sisters fans are worried about Tammy Slaton’s addiction issues.
Will she be able to stay sober while grieving?
Tammy Slaton is sad, but not surprised about Caleb
According to The Sun, Caleb’s death wasn’t a huge shock to Tammy. The reality television star is heartbroken by the loss, but insiders seem to think she saw it coming.
“Tammy was trying so hard to get him to turn around because she’s like, ‘Look, I did it,’ and he didn’t have the motivation or the willpower,” an inside source reportedly told The Sun.
The insider went on to say that Tammy ultimately decided divorce was the best option because she really wanted Caleb to move toward his health goals, but he was ultimately unwilling. But even so, she really wished him well.
“They were best friends and were supporters of each other in the clinic, and [his death is] devastating for her,” the source concluded.
Even though they split up, they clearly kept in touch. After hearing these reports, fans are incredibly concerned for Tammy’s mental health and well-being.
Onscreen, the TLC star has dealt with previous heartbreak and loss through food, which developed into an addiction. But will that be the story this time?
Fans urge the reality star to hold strong amid her loss
In the wake of Caleb’s death, Tammy shared a heartbreaking Instagram post. It didn’t feature the TLC star’s usual goofy selfies. Instead, she simply chose to share a heartfelt message.
“Even tho we don’t talk every day. Just because you live far away. You’re on my mind til each days end. I’m proud to say you are my friend,” the post reads.
Immediately, fans left their condolences and encouraged Tammy to stay strong and avoid her addiction triggers during this difficult chapter.
“We love and care about you Tammy 💕 I am so sorry about Caleb I know that you both loved each other very much,” one fan wrote. “Please stay strong be and stay healthy. Continue to get better because Caleb would want to see you healthy and happy💕”
“I lost my first wife to a drug overdose. I know it’s crushing, but you can make it through this,” another shared.
