ABC News is over the drama as they made the decision to immediately fire longtime anchor Ken Rosato following a controversial remark he made. What happened that caused this anchor to get the boot all of a sudden? Keep reading for the details.
ABC News immediately fires longtime anchor, Ken Rosato
Things have just started to clear up for ABC News after the decision to terminate T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach following their affair. The dust, however, couldn’t have settled fast enough before the network was hit with another massive controversy.
According to an exclusive report from Page Six, Ken Rosato has been a longtime anchor for Eyewitness News This Morning on WABC 7 out of New York. He, however, was immediately fired after he reportedly made an “off-color” remark.”
Speaking to an insider, Ken Rosato was not on the air when he made this controversial remark. What he said, however, was picked up by his “open mic” and the network immediately fired him for it. At this time, however, it is unclear exactly what Ken Rosato said. Another source, also not saying what the remark was, affirmed it was bad enough that he was immediately terminated for it.
The sources speaking to Page Six reveal they learned of his termination on Friday. One at a time, the upper management brought his colleagues in to discuss the situation and inform them of the termination. The management, however, did not repeat what was said to anyone.
One insider speaking to Page Six admits they did not hear what we said. But, the colleagues Ken Rosato leaves behind are speculating he may have uttered a racial slur into the mic.
In the email alerting staff Rosato was no longer employed with WABC, the general manager thanked him for his years of service.

He is denying it was a racial slur
Page Six did make contact with a representative of Ken Rosato. The representative is denying that Ken was fired for saying a racial slur as it wasn’t something he would do.
Being fired for any racial slur is 100 percent inaccurate and untrue. Ken Rosato had a benchmark of 20 years at WABC of supporting all equality.”
Whatever it was Ken Rosato said to get immediately fired, the network (and his rep) are being super cagey with the details. And, the statement was bad enough that manager doesn’t want to repeat it to any of the employees. Unfortunately, the rest of the world may never know exactly what he said that got him axed so suddenly.
