According to a new report, a crew member fell asleep during a taping of Live with Kelly and Mark. The show kicked off this month after Ryan Seacrest’s departure. Kelly Ripa’s husband Mark Consuelos replaced the AI host. Fans have complained about the new format of the show.

Meanwhile, others are still fed up with some of the pre-recorded episodes they sneak in. Kelly Ripa and Mark have been hosting the talk show for the past week. Apparently, the crew is also bored with the new show as well. During a pre-taping that took place on Wednesday, April 26, one of the crew members fell asleep. They were bored to tears.

“A crew member who was off to the side kept opening and closing his eyes as he was dozing off,” an insider told The U.S. Sun. “He then legitimately fell asleep for about two minutes while Kelly and Mark were still going on about the news topics!”

The feeling was reciprocated throughout the studio audience. The alleged snoop could tell that some of the members were “yawning” and “seemed bored.” Mark couldn’t stop rambling for 20 minutes. Most people checked out of the conversation.

“It was a mix of the topics they were talking about and the way Kelly and Mark presented them,” the source explained. “Kelly was leading the conversations and made more jokes than Mark. No one really laughed at Mark’s punchlines. In fact, some of the crew would laugh louder than the audience at times.”

Another source close to production fought back at the claims. They denied that one of their crew members fell asleep during a recent taping. The source called the show and set “lively.” They also claimed that both the “LIVE! hosts and crew” are “supportive” of one another.

This comes amid the backlash over the new show. Viewers were hoping that Kelly Ripa would’ve chosen anyone but Mark as her new co-host. The Riverdale actor hasn’t won over fans. The April 26 pre-taping was for an episode that won’t air until June 19.

The audience called it “bizarre,” according to the report. What’s also interesting is that Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos didn’t change into new outfits for the pre-taping. They were the same clothes as the live taping. Fans were hoping that the ABC talk show would stick to the live aspect, but it hasn’t changed.
