Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ Reality Show Players Leave In Tears
Netflix’s Squid Game reality show players leave the show in tears complaining of warzone-like filming conditions. Titled Squid Game: The Challenge, this series is one of the largest in reality TV history with 456 real players competing for the $4.56 Million cash prize. The show is currently being filmed in Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom. However, as lucrative as the prize money is, participants are now calling out the streaming giant for terrible treatment on the set. So, why are the players in tears? What is happening on the sets of the Squid Game reality show? Keep reading to find out the details!
Squid Game Reality Show Players Film In Extreme Cold
On Monday, the cast and crew of the reality show shot for a sprawling game of Red Light Green Light. However, the conditions during the game were very grim as the players had to keep going even in harsh weather with temperatures dropping down to 30 degrees Fahrenheit (negative 1 Celsius). As reported by The Sun, at least one contestant was taken away to the medic bay after falling down due to extreme exhaustion.

The Red Light Green Light game, featured on the original show, requires contestants to remain motionless and silent when being watched by the giant robotic doll. They can move only when her back is turned. Else, they are terminated from the game.
Squid Game Players Carried Out In Stretchers By Medics
Talking about the filming conditions, one contestant complained, “Even if hypothermia kicked in then people were willing to stay for as long as possible because a lot of money was on the line. Too many were determined not to move so they stood there for far too long. There were people arriving thinking they were going to be millionaires but they left in tears.”

“It was like a war zone. People were getting carried out by medics in stretchers but we couldn’t say anything. If you talk then you’re out. Some people couldn’t move their feet because it was so cold,” they explained.
Netflix Denies Claims Of Serious On-Set Injuries
Several of these contestants are not accustomed to the United Kingdom’s extremely cold conditions. This has caused less than five players to require medical attention. Moreover, one contestant accidentally injured their shoulder after running into a wall while others were treated for mild ailments. Although the contestants did receive thermal underwear and hand warmers along with the iconic green tracksuits, players claim it wasn’t enough to keep them warm.

However, Netflix and its production partners Studio Lambert and the Garden claimed denied the allegations. They asserted that even though it was very cold on the set, the participants received all the supplies necessary. The team even denied any claims of serious injuries on the set.
