‘1000-Lb Best Friends’ Are Tina & Meghan Faking Storyline?
All reality TV shows are scripted to some degree — but what about 1000-Lb. Best Friends?
The series follows four close friends who struggle with their weight as they explore exercise, proper nutrition, and the possibility of bariatric surgery. In true TLC fashion, there is plenty of drama too.
However, some 1000-Lb Best Friends fans aren’t convinced the entire series is authentic. See what some fans had to say about recent onscreen developments.
1000-Lb Best Friends viewers question why Meghan and Tina live together
1000-Lb Best Friends viewers know that Meghan Crumpler and her fiance Jon live with Tina Arnold, her husband, and their four kids. Things are a little cramped in the household, but it’s clear that Tina and Meghan genuinely enjoy each other’s company. They even managed to make things work when a pipe burst in the Arnold home, forcing all eight occupants to live in a hotel while repair crews worked on the damage.
But just how genuine is this storyline?
“Living together ONLY for a storyline?” one Reddit user asked on the platform this week. “This is what I don’t understand… In the beginning, [Vannessa] did not have a pot to piss in, but from the money that they get from the show. She has been able to rent a very nice home. I guarantee everyone else gets paid a decent amount as well, so why are they living together? If not for just a storyline? We are on season 2 it doesn’t make sense. And honestly to put my opinion in there… There would be no way I would let my children specifically older children sleep on the floor for a few months over grown ass adults who can take care of themselves. Make this makes sense! Am I missing something?”
“I think Megan and Tina are codependent,” another Redditor offered.
“Meghan had some hoarder tendencies. Maybe she’s not good with her money,” someone else suggested.
But of course, many other Redditors believed that the women were indeed faking their living situation for the sake of the storylines. What do you think the truth is? Share your ideas in the comments.
There’s plenty more left to come in Season 2
1000-Lb Best Friends Season 2 began not long ago, so there’s plenty of more content left in the season. This year, fans have already seen Meghan Crumpler completely melt down and lose her cool. Will she manage to pull herself back together before the season finale?
In the mean time, fans can keep up with the women on social media. They’re all pretty active, including Tina who happily shows off her healthy meal plans with followers.
New episodes of 1000-Lb Best Friends air each Wednesday night at 10 PM eastern time on TLC. Tune in tonight and see what the women are up to this week.
