‘1000-Lb. Sisters’: How Much Are Tammy & Amy Really Worth?
It’s been about a year since TLC put out new 1000-Lb. Sisters content. The good news is that the long wait is about to come to an end. In just a few more days, fans will get to catch up with Tammy, Amy, and the rest of the family.
But how much are Tammy and Amy worth? See what a few sources indicate.
The 1000-Lb. Sisters gang has increased its earning power over the years
Long-time 1000-Lb. Sisters viewers know that the family doesn’t have much money. But it seems like their time on reality television may have changed things a bit. Last season, Amy and her husband bought a new home. Meanwhile, Tammy checked herself into rehab — something that isn’t at all cheap.
According to Market Realist, Amy Halterman was worth about $250,000 in 2020. The publication notes that she earns compensation for her time on TLC, as well as partnerships from her YouTube channel. However, the 1000-Lb. Sisters star has certainly risen in popularity over the last three years. Now, she’s on Cameo and has an even bigger online following.
As for Tammy Slaton Willingham, Yahoo! News reports that she’s worth about $100,000. She’s been in rehab over the past year and hasn’t had as much time as Amy to work on her social media presence. But even so, viewers agree that Tammy is an important part of the series and many wouldn’t keep watching without her.
Both Tammy and Amy tend to be pretty tight-lipped about their earnings. Right now, neither TLC star has admitted exactly how much they make. But since this information is a few years old, it stands to reason that their families are earning much more these days.
“For those docu-ensembles, especially if they’re nobodies, per episode it ranges from low-end, like $1,500 an episode, to $3,000 at the high end,” Business Insider writes. “And then after three years of success, it can go up to $7,000 to $10,000 an episode. After that, you start moving into the Kardashian level.”
1000-Lb. Sisters Season 1 premiered in early 2020. Season 4 premieres on January 17, 2023, which means that Tammy and Amy could be looking at a significant pay bump very soon.
Be sure to tune into the season premiere this week and keep up with the sisters
For a very long time, TLC fans weren’t quite sure that 1000-Lb. Sisters would come back at all. The network hadn’t said much about renewing the show and Amy Halterman teased that she might like to just focus on being a mother instead of being a reality TV star.
Fortunately for fans, it seems like Amy chose to renew her contract. 1000-Lb. Sisters Season 4 kicks off at 9 PM eastern time on January 17. Will you be watching? Leave your opinions in the comments below and stay tuned for more news and updates on the family.
