Damar Hamlin Breaking News Update: Awake But Still Critical
Great breaking NFL news as the Buffalo Bills have confirmed Damar Hamlin has made a “remarkable improvement” in the past 24 hours. The relieving news comes after the Buffalo Bills’ safety collapsed on the field during the first quarter of the game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night. NFL fans learned later via updates that Damar’s heart stopped on the field and stopped a second time at the hospital.
Per TMZ, the NFL team issued a statement on Thursday morning to give fans an update on how the 24-year-old was doing after being hospitalized and being in the ICU since Monday night.

While the Buffalo Bills’ safety is not out of the woods yet as he’s still “critically ill,” the team reports he has made a “remarkable improvement” with “steady progress.”
Per the physicians caring for Damar Hamlin at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Damar has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours. While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lungs continue to heal and he is making steady progress.”
As those who have been following this story know, Damar Hamlin’s lungs became injured during his medical emergency. Fortunately, the doctors report they are on the mend. There was also a great amount of concern for the NFL player’s brain as he went without oxygen both times his heart stopped. So, it is relieving to learn that the player appears to be “neurologically intact.”
Since Monday night, Damar Hamlin’s name has been all over headlines and social media platforms as the country came together to pray for him and his family. Even President Biden spoke out about Hamlin’s situation yesterday.
