Prolific Period For 1923 Star
Harrison Ford has enjoyed a very prolific period. He has been filming a cornucopia of projects. At the top of this list is Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny. In addition, MCU’s Captain America: New World Order, and Thunderbolts. Fans of the American Graffiti star do not want to forget his Apple TV+ series, Shrinking.
He loves to be busy and revealed, “I’ve been working pretty much back-to-back, which is not what I normally do. I don’t know how it happened. But it happened.” Moreover, he intends to keep on working. “I love it.” He revealed. “I love the challenge and the process of making a movie. I feel at home. It’s what I’ve spent my life doing.”
I don’t want to reinvent myself. I just want to work.
However, 1923 is his first television role. In this Yellowstone prequel spin-off, he plays Jacob Dutton. He has taken over for his brother James Dutton (Tim McGraw), who was killed ten years before.
This new Yellowstone prequel spinoff spans the post-WWI era, the Spanish Flu Pandemic, Western Expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression. Originally, Taylor Sheridan called the series 1932, starting amid the Depression. However, once the series cast Ford and his co-star, Helen Mirren, the showrunner decided to start the series story even earlier, during the Roaring 20s.
Harrison Ford On Working With Helen Mirren
The Yellowstone prequel spinoff 1923 is not the only time he has worked with Helen Mirren. The two starred in the 1986 movie, The Mosquito Coast. This movie is based on the Paul Theroux novel, directed by Peter Weir, and also River Phoenix.
Ford enjoys working with the award-winning star. “She’s wonderful, she’s just a lovely person, and so it’s been both a professional pleasure and a personal pleasure working with her again.”
