Jill Dillard Reveals Some Snippets Of Derick’s Courtship We Never saw On the Show
Jill Dillard and Derick Dillard now have two children and still seem very much in love. Of course, we can recall part of their journey from 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On. Actually, Jill’s been recently taking us down memory lane about the TLC shows. And, now she shared some snippets about Derick’s courtship that never got revealed.
Jill Dillard goes down memory lane lately
This past week, TV Shows Ace reported that Jill talked about how the Duggar kids didn’t watch their own show at home. That came when she shared about how they allow their kids to watch certain shows online. In her IG post about that, she shared how thrilled her son was to see the Duggars on the screen. Between her and Amy King, her cousin, they chatted a bit nostalgically about the days they watched only the unedited clips. And, that was for editing purposes only.
Fans of Counting On know that Jill and Derick Dillard don’t appear on the show anymore. Actually, while she sounds nostalgic about the show, Popculture confirmed they don’t have plans to return to it. They cited Jill as saying on Instagram, “No plans to [return to the show] currently. It just all got to be too much for our little family, so we decided to step away from it all a couple years ago before the birth of our second child.” But the show’s got some special memories for Jill, and she revealed a few memories that we never saw.
Jill reveals little memories between her and Derick that we never saw on the TV show
Taking to her Dillard Family blog on Friday, Jill revealed a few interesting insights. She mentioned that when she and her dad Jim Bob went to Nepal, he acted as chaperone. But, thinking maybe he fell asleep, Derick took the opportunity to tell her he loved her. Jill reminded fans that they talked on social media but she never officially met him until they went to Nepal. After a week, Derick officially asked if he could court her. And, the night, he declared his love, she replied, “I love you too.”
Something else we never saw was that her visit to Nepal lasted longer than just a few days. Jill revealed, “The film crew departed, but my dad and I actually stayed for another week (total trip was 2 weeks) and I got to be there over Thanksgiving.” Jill says she recalls how very “special” that time was for her as no cameras followed them around. At the end of her reveal, Jill said, “Today, I’m so grateful to be married to my best friend, Derick Michael Dillard! Life isn’t perfect, but there’s nobody I’d rather be walking this journey hand-in-hand with than him!”

Life in front of the cameras must be very intrusive
