Business titan and oil tycoon Michael Armand Hammer, the father of Armie Hammer, was confirmed dead at 67 today. If the name sounds familiar, it may be because a documentary titled House of Hammer was released about the family via Discovery+ on September 2nd of this year.
According to TMZ, Michael Armand Hammer passed away over the weekend. The outlet goes on to report that the business tycoon’s death didn’t come as a total surprise to his family as he’d been pretty sick and battling cancer for a little while now.

As previously mentioned, Michael’s official cause of death at the age of 67 was losing his battle with cancer. He was reportedly survived by his second wife, Misty Millward. Michael and Misty got married back in 2017. He is also survived by his sons from his previous marriage, Armie and Viktor.
Sadly, Michael spent most of his life trying to make his father Julian happy. Unfortunately, according to Armie, his father was never successful. Armie believes their relationship was largely damaged by the fact that Michael’s grandfather Armand did not include Julian in his will.

Michael Armand Hammer had an eye for business. First, he was a businessman working at an investment banking firm located in New York City. He shifted gears when he started to work for Occidental Petroleum. Occidental Petroleum was a company his grandfather (also named Armand) was in charge of for a very long time.
Surprisingly, his net worth was not very high at the time of his passing coming in at right around $1.5M. According to Distractify, his net worth took a pretty massive hit because of the controversies surrounding his family.
