Cincinnati Bengals Assistant Coach Adam Zimmer Dead At 38
Sad news for NFL fans as the assistant coach for the Cincinnati Bengals, Adam Zimmer, was confirmed dead at 38. News of his tragic death at a very young age broke yesterday and last night. In addition to being the Offensive Analyst for the Bengals, Adam is also the son of Mike Zimmer. For the past eight seasons, Adam participated in coaching the Minnesota Vikings alongside his father, Mike.

Cincinnati Bengals Assistant Coach Adam Zimmer Dead At 38
At just 38, NFL fans were not ready to learn Mike Zimmer’s son Adam was dead. Has his cause of death been made public? What is known about his passing? The Cincinnati Bengals issued a statement on Adam’s passing via USA Today. The statement read: “The Bengals are saddened to learn the devastating news about team offensive analyst Adam Zimmer.”
The owner of the Cincinnati Bengals also issued a statement on his passing. In his statement, Mike discussed his relationship with Adam and Adam’s father:
Our organization has had the privilege of knowing and working with the Zimmer family for 15 years. We have the highest regard for Mike and Adam, and we are saddened by this tragic news. Mike and Adam were more than coaches for us — they were friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Zimmer family at this time.”
Per ESPN, the Mendota Heights Police Department was performing a welfare check on the young man. Sadly, Adam Zimmer was already dead when police arrived at his home. Presently authorities have reassured there did not appear to be anything suspicious about his death. An official cause of death, however, has not been revealed as it is pending the Hennepin County medical examiner’s ruling.

Adam’s sister Cori Zimmer White took to Instagram to confirm her brother’s passing in a heartwrenching post. She wrote: “I can’t believe I’m writing this. I lost my big brother yesterday. The kindest, sweetest, family loving, sports obsessed soul there ever was. I’ve felt pain like this once before but it’s been a while and I didn’t know I was able to feel like this again.”
