‘The Midnight Club’ To Kick Off The Spooky Season On Netflix
After creating some amazing masterpieces like Midnight Mass and The Haunting Of Hill House, creator Mike Flanagan is ready to tell a new spooky tale. His latest horror series titled The Midnight Club is all set to commence the spooky season on Netflix. This horror-drama series is based on the work of Christopher Pike.
Mike Flanagan’s New Netflix Series Centers On A Creepy Hospice
The story is set at the Brightcliffe Hospice where terminal teenagers transition on their own terms. In the lead is Iman Benson of the #BlackAF fame portraying Ilonka. She hopes of making it to Stanford University. However, she ends up in this place after she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. During her stay, Ilana will discover new secrets and the creepy history of the hospice.

More so, the thing that makes this series even creepier is the fact that it involves a club. Every night at midnight, eight teenagers in the Brightcliffe Hospice sneak into their library and tell one another ghost stories. In their words, they make ghosts and look for any signs that prove there is life after death. They even have a name for their group, ‘The Midnight Club.’
Netflix’s The Midnight Club Has Real Threats
In the official trailer released by Netflix, Ilonka says, “There are so many stories about this place, stories about people who thought they were gonna diet but didn’t.”

Although Flanagan and Trevor Macy, his co-producer might have toyed around with several ghostly concepts in the past, this is something very new. As per Polygon, Flanagan’s past productions were focused on haunting memories or lurking spectators. However, the threats in the upcoming series are very real. Further in the trailer, viewers can hear Ilonka say, “I don’t care what it costs. If there’s a way to save us, I’d bring the world down.”
