Sharna Burgess Details Complications During Baby’s Delivery
Dancing With The Stars pro Sharna Burgess could hardly contain her excitement when she found out she was pregnant in late 2021. She gave birth on June 28, 2022 and is the proud mother of a healthy baby boy, Zane Walker Green.
Both mother and son seem fine now, but Sharna recently revealed things got a little complicated during the delivery process. Keep reading to find out more.
Sharna Burgess had a difficult labor with her baby boy
Sharna Burgess’ fans watched her fall madly in love with actor Brian Austin Green over the last few years. She first revealed that she was seeing a mystery man towards the end of 2020, who turned out to be Green.
From there, the two went on to compete in Dancing With The Stars Season 30 together. Shortly after their elimination from the show, Sharna discovered she was expecting. Although the baby was a surprise, the couple was incredibly happy about the news.
Baby Zane entered the world on June 28, but Sharna and Brian kept the news quiet for a few days. They wanted some privacy as a family, but Sharna also needed some time to rest and recover from the delivery.
“I didn’t expect a C section. I didn’t necessarily have a birth plan but even my relaxed go with the flow approach got tested when we were told this was the safest option,” the 37-year-old dancer shared on Instagram. “Our little Zane was trying so hard to get out but after 30+ hrs of labor and my water breaking TWICE, I just wasn’t dilating enough.”
Sharna went on to describe how terrified she was during the C-section and even afterward when she had Zane in her arms. She bravely uploaded a selfie featuring her scar.
“In total transparency I was afraid to look at my body for the first time afterwards,” the Australian-native continued. “The incision and omg the swelling? I looked and thought “wow, I am utterly unrecognizable and my body has been through some serious shit. “ but of course it had… I grew a life inside me. That miracle makes it all worth it. Physically mentally and emotionally postpartum is unlike anything else I’ve experienced.”
Will the Season 27 champion make a comeback?
Dancing With The Stars is still two months away, so Sharna could possibly join the cast if she really wanted to. However, fans really hope that the new mom will prioritize her own health and wellness and sit out if she needs to. Jenna Johnson will also sit out this season due to her pregnancy. Peta Murgatroyd is also widely believed to be absent again due to her IVF treatments.
If Sharna doesn’t return, fans will miss her. But they’re also excited to see more photos of baby Zane in the future.
