Back in 2011, Alfred appeared on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’s syndicated daytime version which is hosted by Meredith Vieira. The Yale tutor showcased an impressive performance on the show as he correctly answered 13 out of 14 questions. He walked away with a massive $250,000 in winnings. In 2019, the contestant also bagged $100,000 on an episode of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? game show.

Contestant Alfred Appeared On A Dating Show

However, these aren’t the only shows Alfred has appeared on. His winning saga goes further back in history. Describing his game show appearances, a fan tweeted, “I remember Alfred in the middle lectern. He was on Millionaire several years ago when he won $250K. He later appeared on Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader when we won $100K. I wonder how well he will do on #Jeopardy.”

Another replied to the tweet, “Wow, Alfred living my dream of being a game show sl*t #jeopardy.”

Alfred Guy Didn’t Win Much On Jeopardy!

However, contrary to his previous stints as a game show contestant, his appearance on Jeopardy! didn’t get him much success. He finished in third place and bagged $10,999 in winnings. However, in conversation with TV Insider, he was on the game show not for the money but for the experience. He referred to Jeopardy! as the ‘Olympics’ of all the game shows. He also mentioned that the best part about being on the show was being able to chat with his fellow contestants.

He also mentioned, “I was very, very pleased with how much the contestants root for each other. In a show where you win by getting questions right, I could sometimes see the other contestants being like ‘Wow!’ Instead of like ‘D*mn!’ And that surprised me. I didn’t think there would be so much comradery.”
