Since Josh was arrested in the spring of 2021, fans, friends, and family members have been begging Anna to leave him and protect their children.
But through it all, Anna Duggar has appeared to be standing by his side. She attended each day of his trial back in November and held his hand in public. She has yet to issue a statement speaking negatively about Josh’s crimes.
Most recently, Duggar cousin Amy King told Anna there is “no shame” in getting a divorce. She also encouraged Anna to be strong for their kids and stop showing them that abuse is okay. One of Anna’s sisters, Rebekah Hunt, thanked Amy for sharing this.
Several years ago, one of Anna’s brothers offered to help her leave Josh and referred to him as a “pig.”
Nonetheless, Anna has continued to stay married to Josh, regardless of everything that has happened.

An insider close to the family recently spoke with In Touch about where Anna Duggar stands today. So, would she ever leave Josh?
The source explained, “She’s not the type to look for or even consider starting a new life with another man, but there are plenty of upstanding, religious men in the church who would appreciate and take care of a woman like Anna. There’s a lot of sympathy for her.”
Though divorce is typically frowned upon in religious communities, Josh’s crimes may be grounds for divorce.
