‘Jeopardy!’ Big Winner Mattea Roach Picks Best Person For Host?
Jeopardy! big winner Mattea Roach picks the best person as permanent host of the show. The 23-year-old shared who she thinks is the right one for the coveted position. This comes after her shocking loss in the previous episode of the popular series. The contestant was on a consecutive 23-game winning streak, which became the fifth-longest streak in the history of the quiz show.
Mattea Roach shares her “best choice” as Jeopardy! host
During her interview with Vulture, Mattea revealed who she thinks is the “best choice” for Jeopardy. Fans have been wanting to know who will become the new permanent host after original host Alex Trebek passed away in 2020. However, the show is making them wait two years, maybe even longer, to make it happen. Mattea says she prefers Ken Jennings as a “permanent choice” due to “his history with the show.”
“As a contestant, there is something really special about being on stage with the greatest player of all time,” the former Jeopardy contestant told Vulture. “Someone who understands in a very visceral way what it is like to be in your position.”
While Mattea thinks Mayim Bialik is a “fantastic” host, she feels she doesn’t “have that same experience.” Ken Jennings is known for his 32-game winning streak. He also won the title of the “Greatest of All Time” on the game show. Unfortunately, Mattea’s winning streak came to an end.
She ended up losing to Danielle Mauer during the round of “Final Jeopardy.” This came as a shock to the audience and viewers at home. Even though Mattea was in the lead, she still got the answer wrong during “Final Jeopardy.” She lost the wager by just $1. Danielle stood in shock as she became the new winner.
Ken Jennings hangs up his hosting duties
As TV Shows Ace previously reported, Ken Jennings is hanging up his hosting duties for now. He took to Twitter to announce that he was taking an extended hiatus. He handed the keys back to Bialik, much to the dismay of fans.
“I’m handing the keys back to the talented actor-producer-writer-director (!) Mayim Bialik for a few months,” Jennings tweeted. “We are lucky to have her! Thanks for watching, and I’ll be back before the end of the season.”
However, Jeopardy fans aren’t happy over this news. Most of them threatened to not watch the show for the next few months. However, some fans think Jennings will end up with the permanent hosting position since he left The Chase, a quiz-based game show on ABC that includes alumni Brad Rutter and James Holzhauer. Who do you think should get the position? Sound off below in the comment section.
