‘Below Deck’ Fans Might Recognize Ben ‘Benny’ Crawler From TV

Below Deck fans might recognize Ben “Benny” Crawler from television. The deckhand is on the Peacock original Below Deck Down Under. Fans have been loving the new crew, aside from Chef Ryan McKeown and Benny. Whenever they see the young deckhand, they can’t help but think of Danny Zureikat from Season 1 of Below Deck Mediterranean.

Danny did not want to follow any rules. He was known for flirting with the charter guests. Benny also expressed an interest in not wanting to follow the rules. He brought his share of drama to the show, and it may be because he’s been on TV before.

Who is Ben Crawler?

Ben Crawley is known as “Benny” among his crew members. He didn’t make the right impression because of his work ethic — or lack thereof. He often butts heads with bosun Jamie Sayed. In one episode of Below Deck Down Under, Benny accidentally blocks the toilet in his cabin. It ends up running into his room and into the lower deck.

He’s embarrassed and already wants to go home. Benny has already had a tough time during his first few days on charter. He’s dealing with the death of his family members, which whom he was very close.  Benny explained in his confessional interviews that he’s been looking for a group to fill that void in his life.

It’s the very reason why he got into yachting. Benny wants his crew members to feel like family. Captain Jason Chambers didn’t hold his nose when he had to unblock the toilet. In fact, he pitched in and helped Benny out. The two worked together, leading Benny to feel better about the choice he made regarding his new career.

He feels like he’s part of a close-knit family. Yet, the deckhand is still struggling with his job. There are some jobs he doesn’t feel comfortable doing. On Thursday’s episode of Below Deck Down Under, Benny said he’s willing to step up and prove himself.

The Below Deck newbie has been on TV before

Benny may be a recognizable face for a reason. Most Below Deck fans may know that he was already on TV before joining the spinoff series. Before he was known as Benny on Below Deck Down Under, he hosted the children’s game show What Did You Know? The series only lasted one series with a total of 65 episodes, according to The Daily Mail.

Benny has a charismatic personality, which makes him perfect for the Below Deck series. Aside from hosting a game show, Benny is an entrepreneur with many business ventures. He’s a cryptocurrency trader who coaches others who want to get into trading. Benny also works as a DJ on his free time.

It sounds like Benny doesn’t need to work in the yachting industry. Just by looking at his background, he’s not the type of person to answer to someone else. He would rather work for himself. Since he currently lives in Tulum, Mexico, some fans are wondering if he won’t return to the series.
