Shailene Woodley & Aaron Rodgers End Engagement
According to new reports, Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers have ended their engagement. It looks like now only one Rodgers brother will be tying the knot in 2022. Of course, that would be Aaron’s estranged brother Jordan Rodgers who is marrying The Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher this year. As for Shailene and Aaron, what went wrong?
Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley are over
Life & Style shared the news that Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley are reportedly over. The two announced their engagement in February 2021. Now, just a year later they are calling it quits. What went wrong?
According to the report, sources close to Shailene and Aaron say that neither of them was happy with their relationship. They said Shailene felt that while she was supportive of Aaron’s football career he always put it first before her. They were reportedly spending very little time together and she felt very neglected.
The source also noted that Aaron is very independent and was starting to get cold feet ahead of his wedding. A second source says that ultimately they just couldn’t make it work. They said, “There were too many obstacles. They’re both adults and decided to part amicably.”
The way they were
Aaron announced their engagement while accepting the Most Valuable Player the 10th Annual NFL Honors in February 2021. He said, “I got engaged and I played some of the best football in my career.” He also just took the honor again less than a week ago.
Shailene opened up about her engagement to Aaron just a month later. She said they met during a really whacky time. She said she didn’t grow up around sports so didn’t know much about the world he was in. Shailene admitted she knew he played football but that was about it. She said she was constantly learning about what it is he does.
Shailene appeared to be supportive of Aaron during his Covid vaccine scandal in November 2021. However, the two sparked breakup rumors in December despite her showing public support for her fiance.
Aaron came under fire when it became known he had never been vaccinated against Covid-19. At the time he said, “It wasn’t some sort of ruse or lie, it was the truth. Had there been a follow-up to my statement that I’d been immunized, I would have responded with this: I would have said, ‘Look, I’m not some sort of anti-vax-flat-Earther. I’m somebody who’s a critical thinker.’” He continued. “I march to the beat of my own drum. I believe strongly in bodily autonomy, [in the] ability to make choices for your body, not to have to acquiesce to some woke culture or crazed group of individuals who say you have to do something.”
Following this news, it was reported that Aaron and his brother Jordan were beginning to communicate again.
