Carlin Bates Shares Sad Pregnancy Update: ‘Hasn’t Been The Easiest’
Bringing Up Bates star Carlin Bates Stewart is currently expecting her second baby, a boy. The baby should arrive in the spring. So, Carlin and her husband, Evan, are getting very excited. The baby will join big sister, Layla, who will be two in late January.
Since announcing the pregnancy, they have been sharing updates on social media and keeping fans in the loop. Carlin has shared lots of cute bump photos and even gave fans a peek at her baby name list.
As we previously reported, Carlin and Evan shared with fans about her pregnancy being high-risk. They gave fans some of the details about what’s going on. Carlin and several of her sisters have been diagnosed with blood clotting disorders. Fortunately, it all seemed to be under control with the proper medical attention.
But now, Carlin has more details about her pregnancy and all of the ups and downs.
Carlin Bates gives fans an update on her baby boy.
On her Instagram stories on Thursday, Carlin told fans what’s going on with her baby boy. One fan sent her a message, wondering if Carlin still had to give herself shots at home throughout her pregnancy.
Carlin gave everyone an update, writing, “Just to clarify: I have 3 different blood clotting disorders that puts me at risk for miscarriage and blood clots afterwards!”
Then, Carlin continues, “My doctor thought it was best to put me back on 2 Heparin (a blood thinner) shots a day for the end of my pregnancy and for 6 weeks after!”
Finally, she adds, “It hasn’t been the easiest month, but I’d do anything for baby boy!”
So, while things haven’t been easy, it seems like Carlin is working with her doctor to ensure everything goes smoothly. In her post, she also apologized for not keeping fans in the loop. Then, she shared a couple of snaps of Layla pretending to get shots on her stomach, too. Evan played along and gave Layla a “shot.”
Finally, Carlin shared a photo as she cradled her baby bump while laying on the couch. She also added a heart emoji to the photo.

I want to request that the show Bringing Up Bates, be brought back to UPTV. Such a wholesome show. I’ve been wondering where it has gone. We all feel that the Bates family is part of our own family.
