’90 Day Fiance’: Ashley Martson Convinced Fire Extinguisher Assault Saga Will ‘Only Cost A Few Thousand’
90 Day Fiance fans heard that Ashley Martson faced charges involving alleged criminal mischief and assault. Back in July, TV Shows Ace noted that “Ashley’s not taking the charges laid against her very seriously. Over on her Instagram, she joked about not having a mug shot.” However, Afterbuzz TV suggested that as it involved assault as well as criminal mischief, she may end up facing a bigger sentence. They noted a “$5,000 fine and up to a two year…jail sentence,” might result. Now, Ashley took to her Instagram stories and she still appears unconcerned, claiming the cost as “a few thousand.”
90 Day Fiance – preliminary hearing for Ashley Martson – Wednesday, August 28
The case against Ashley fell out of public sight a bit after Jay Smith left jail. We don’t know if her preliminary hearing dates changed at all. But we do know Ashley’s spending an awful lot of time and money with courts and lawyers. On her Instagram Stories Thursday night, Ashley shared a post that said, “I wish I had the money I’ve spent on attorneys and the time I’ve spent in courtrooms back.”
She later shared a business card for “Martson Law Offices,” which she captioned as “Thanks fam.” On the same day, she put up a photo of a document dated August 15 about her divorce. We know that Jay, so far, failed to sign off the divorce papers. The new document’s captioned with ‘Let’s see if someone else signs.” That document’s a “Waiver of notice of intention to request entry under a divorce decree.” So, the 90 Day Fiance star’s busy on the divorce as well as seeing lawyers about the alleged assault and mischief hearing.
Unconcerned about assault charges – costs ‘a few thousand’ – Ashley
Fans of the TLC show know that lawyers, even if family, don’t come cheap. And, we know Ashley’s apparently not flush with money. Yet, she flips off the potential fine for criminal mischief out the window carelessly. In another IG Story, she posted about the fire-extinguisher incident. To be fair to her she never denied throwing it through the window. In fact, she talked about it with John Yates, blogger and social media guru for 90 Day Fiance.
In her latest IG Story, Ashley wrote, “I know I joke about the fire extinguisher situation but that’s a defense mechanism.” She adds, “I let my anger and hurt take complete control over me. If I learned anything, it’s that I will never allow a person to get me to that point again in my life.” She goes on to advise people just to “leave” and walk away from it. Near the end, she mentioned the court case. She noted that as it’s her first case, it won’t “affect [her] in any way.” But notes it will “only cost” her “a few thousand.” Presumably, that’s something her lawyer suggested to the 90 Day Fiance alum.
What do you think about Ashey mentioning the fire extinguisher incident and her belief it will “only cost a few thousand.” That displays a lot of confidence that the assault side of it may not be a factor, after all. However, we’ll need to await the court hearing to find out. After all, it could be assumed that a person who throws a fire extinguisher might be aware that it could hurt someone.
