Many of these types of artifacts are said to be cursed and have the ability to harm those who try and acquire them. Many of these items have great religious and ceremonial ties to them as well.
Curses were placed on many of these artifacts in hopes of keeping the hands of outsiders off of them. Zak believes this type of curse was placed on a statue he recently obtained. Plus, he was told by the previous owner that the statue had been owned by one of Zak’s favorite actors, Steve McQueen.
The previous owner also shared with Zak that McQueen’s wife remained terrified of this tribal statue. She actually forced him to get rid of it. So, the question was posed if Steve McQueen and his wife could have experienced the haunting curse themselves.
