Mandel is a Canadian-born comedian, actor, and television personality. As an actor, he became known to many as Dr. Wayne Fiscus on the medical drama St. Elsewhere. Earlier in his career, he became known as a voice actor, voicing Gizmo in the 1984 film Gremlins, and even starring in his own cartoon, Bobby’s World.
However, Mandel later became established as a television personality after becoming the host of the game show Deal or No Deal, based on the Dutch show of the same name. In addition to the American version of the series, he briefly hosted a Canadian-English version of the series.
In 2010, Mandel became a judge on America’s Got Talent. He later joined the show’s northern counterpart, Canada’s Got Talent, in 2022. For the most recent season, Season 20, Mandel teamed up with Mel B, Sofía Vergara, and Simon Cowell to make up the judges’ panel.
Mandel Previously Talked About How He Never ‘Dreamed’ To Have Come As Far As He Has In His Career
Speaking with Fox News, back in 2019, Mandel took note of his colorful career, noting that he had a willingness to take on all sorts of opportunities. He shared, “Even when opportunities present themselves and they seem a little bit weird and different, I usually just say yes and here I am.”
Looking back on his life, Mandel also expressed gratitude for having all these opportunities in the first place. He shared, “I never dreamed I would be in this business. And I never dreamed I would be in this business after all these years and I never dreamed I would be doing all of these different things.”
With all of these jobs, Mandel has also gotten several impressive paychecks. For example, his role as judge on America’s Got Talent earned him $70,000 per episode. This means he earned around $1.7 million for a 24-episode season.
With his prolific career, Mandel has also amassed an impressive net worth. According to OK! Magazine, he has a net worth of around $60 million as of April 2026.
