Everyone loves a weight loss story, especially TLC viewers. A star from the network’s reality show 1000-Lb Best Friends showed off their massive weight loss after dropping hundreds of pounds. Stay on this page to see the shocking photo.
Is 1000-Lb Best Friends Coming Back For Another Season?
After the success of 1000-Lb Sisters, which followed Amy and Tammy Slaton on their weight loss journeys, TLC premiered a version focused on a tight-knit friend group. Four women – Vannessa Cross, Meghan Crumpler, Ashely Sutton, and Tina Arnold – let TLC viewers into their quest to lose weight with the help of Dr. Charles Procter on 1000-Lb Best Friends.

The show last aired in December of 2024. Fans have speculated that the show might be done after 3 seasons. However, TLC hasn’t officially confirmed the show is done. If the show returns for Season 4, it could document one star’s massive weight loss.
TLC Star Shows Off Massive Weight Loss
Several of the main female cast members lost weight. Scott Bagwill joined the TLC show in Season 3. He weighed 596 lbs when viewers first met him on 1000-Lb Best Friends. Dr. Charles Procter told him that he desperately needed bariatric surgery to help shed the weight, or he was at risk for a heart attack. The surgery was almost canceled after Scott Bagwill’s heart rate surged from nerves. His heart rate came down, and he underwent a successful surgery.
While the surgery happened on-screen in 2024, it likely happened in 2023 due to the show’s filming schedule. The Marietta, Georgia, resident shocked fans by revealing a massive post-surgery weight loss. He took to social media with a “major announcement.”

“I am confidently pumped to say I am in the best shape physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally I have ever been. Over the last two years, this journey has been filled with progress, lessons, highs, lows, and everything in between,” he wrote. “I am ready to share it all.”
He reportedly lost 350-400 pounds, but he didn’t do it alone, as he shared in a post: “I want to give a huge thank you to @charlesproctermd with @beltlinebariatric . Early on, he looked me in the eye and said, “You have to decide if you are going to live or are you going to die.” That moment changed everything for me. His guidance, honesty, and belief in me from the very beginning have been life changing,” the 1000-lb Best Friends star wrote.
Scott Bagwill plans to share more about his weight-loss journey with fans soon. He said his journey isn’t over yet. “This is not the finish line. This is only the beginning.”
Fans React To New Look
Scott Bagwill showed off his slimmer appearance a few months ago, but fans did not expect his most recent update. They took to the comments to share their reactions.
