CBS Reopens Assault Case Against Popular Actor
CBS has reopened an investigation into sexual assault allegations concerning one of their actors, with various figures being interviewed. This reportedly followed an initial internal investigation. The news also comes out as various figures close to the case have spoken out about what happened.
The Case Was Reportedly Reopened Before The Thanksgiving Holiday
This past fall, the actor, who had been subject to assault allegations, had been escorted off the Paramount lot. They were then fired from the show the day a complaint against them was lodged.
Sources have claimed, however, that the case has since been reopened. This action took place shortly before the Thanksgiving holiday, with multiple sources being interviewed.

According to TMZ, the actor at the center of the case is Matlock actor David Del Rio, who played lawyer Billy Martinez on the show. He had been accused of sexually assaulting his co-star, actress Leah Lewis, on Paramount property back in October.
Multiple sources, reportedly close to David, have told the outlet that the investigation has reopened. Among those interviewed allegedly include David himself and his attorney, Shawn Holley.
Another insider also confirmed that David’s character has been written off the series for future episodes. CBS previously confirmed such a move at the time of his dismissal. The source noted that Matlock will return to production following a planned hiatus.
A Few Figures Close To The Case, Including Leah Lewis Herself, Have Made Statements On Social Media
At the time, Del Rio reportedly denied the allegations against him. It was then that he hired Holley to represent him.
Holley is known for representing a number of high-profile clients, including Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, and Paris Hilton. According to the outlet, the reopened investigation is still ongoing.

After the news broke initially out, according to Us Weekly, Lewis shared a photo of herself with her mother on Instagram Stories. She shared, “Mom is here, we’re moving forward in love and strength. I’m in good hands. Thank you to everybody for any kind of support and care. Truly, we’re moving forward in strength. Key word, strength. Please, let that be the takeaway.”
Publicly, Del Rio hasn’t commented on the allegations or his firing. Del Rio’s wife, Katherine, with whom he shared two children, defended her husband in October. In an Instagram Story, she wrote, “This is the most disturbing human being I have ever met,” against a photo of Lewis. She later deleted the post.
As an actor, Del Rio started his career in the mid-2000s. He is also known for appearing in Pitch Perfect, Geek Charming, A California Christmas, Grease: Live!, and The Baker and the Beauty.

Usually,na person who does this sort of thing has other victims. So, be expecting the possibility of others coming out of his past. Although, it wasn’t a great move for the company to outright fire him unless she had some pretty solid evidence like texts, video, audio, or witnesses — something more than he said, she said. It seems as though they’re having to back step because they fired him without any real evidence, so they’re hunting now. She said she was assaulted. They fired him and figured that was that. Unfortunately, a company really can’t do that if the employee can get a good attorney. If that was the basis for his immediate termination, and they didn’t have evidence other than his costar’s word, they could be in trouble. And if she was s3xu@lly @$$@lt3d, she should have gone to the hospital, then had them call the police as the hospital collects evidence. Unless it wasn’t grape. Any other type, it’s super hard to prove without something. Get him to admit it in a text fight or something. Record him with one of those video pens. Take him to lunch and wear Meta glasses and record with those. I know how hard it can be because I had a manager at work that was harassing the Hell out of me to the point where I begged not to be made to work alone with him. The other employees and managers just laughed and called him my boyfriend. They thought it was hilarious. I injured myself at work and ended up on work comp before I could get a case against the manager and others at the store. I got fired while I was out on work comp, which was illegal and I was compensated for. That’s part of where I learned about the SA stuff. Also, I was a legal secretary at a law college and picked up a few things. Mainly though, he MIGHT be innocent, and she may have made this up to get him fired. Who knows? He MIGHT be guilty, but she doesn’t have enough evidence to prove it, and Paramount will have to pay out the wahzoo for firing him, and she may even be liable for defimation. She may have evidence, and his career is o-v-e-r. We’ll have to wait and see, but I don’t trust either of them until the facts come out.
