Things can get heated on The View. The hosts address hot-button issues and don’t always agree. But Whoopi Goldberg went too far on Thursday’s episode. She left her co-hosts and the studio audience in shock with her crass comments. What she said was so bad that it was censored for the live television viewers. Keep reading to find out what led to the shocking outburst.

The View Welcomes Republican Lawmaker

The View has come under fire in recent years for mainly inviting guests who lean left politically. But when the show returned for Season 29 in September, the hosts vowed to invite more Republicans or right-leaning guests.

Actress Cheryl Hines was on the show earlier this month to promote her book. Instead, she spent most of the time defending her husband, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who is the head of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

In a surprising move, the ABC daytime show welcomes a Republican lawmaker to the show on Election Day. Marjorie Taylor Greene has represented Georgia’s 14th congressional District in the House of Representatives since 2001. The District includes Dalton, Georgia.

MTG has broken with the Republicans on several issues recently, including the government shutdown. She joins The View as a guest on Tuesday, November 4.

Whoopi Goldberg Gets Censored After Outburst

Whoopi Goldberg reminded viewers on Thursday’s episode about Marjorie Taylor Greene’s upcoming appearance. The View moderator said that there’s not much she agrees with the lawmaker about. But Whoopi said that everyone at the table agrees with one thing.

They all agree that the government shutdown “should not be affecting the American people.” Whoopi Goldberg vented, “These are decisions that you don’t have the right to…” She trailed off just as she started to say something, possibly the f-word.

Her co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin, appeared shocked by the slip-up. Whoopi Goldberg quickly covered her mouth and looked at the audience to see if they heard what she said.

Entertainment Weekly shared an audio clip of the viral moment. They reported that whatever Whoopi said was censored for the television audience.

She Calls Out Viewer Who Reported Her To Network

The moderator of The View went to a commercial after her slip-up. But instead of letting it go, she brought it back up after the commercial break. She said that the producers got a call during the commercial break about Whoopi saying a bad word. But she denied the allegation.

I didn’t say the bad word. I did not say it,” she insisted. She went off on the person who made the call. “I know that you’re sitting, waiting for me to do something, waiting for something to happen. Could you just watch the show? I’d appreciate it if you just watched the show, and then you’ll know what really went on.”

Watch the clip from Thursday’s show above and let us know if you think Whoopi said a bad word or stopped herself just in time. Don’t miss Marjorie Taylor Greene on The View on Tuesday, November 4.
