Dolly Parton Speaks Out About Health Concerns Amid Prayers Requests
Legendary country singer and actress Dolly Parton is speaking out amid her sister, Freida Parton’s, request for prayers. This came on the heels of Dolly postponing her Las Vegas shows for roughly a year. So, what is the seventy-nine-year-old saying? Keep reading for more details.
Dolly Parton Speaks Out Amid Prayer Requests
It has not been an easy year for Dolly Parton as she lost her husband of sixty years, Carl Dean. They had been together since she was a teenager, and many in her inner circle were concerned. Friends feared Dolly would die of a broken heart, simply because she only knew life with Carl by her side. Fortunately, she kept on going and was prepping to hit the stage in Las Vegas. Then, the firecracker, who will be eighty in January, postponed her shows and shared that she had to deal with some health concerns. Of course, this scared all of Dolly’s followers as she always appeared strong.
On Tuesday, October 7th, 2025, Dolly’s sister, Freida, asked followers and fans for prayers. She stated that Dolly was not doing her best, but that was known based on how she delayed her shows:
“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately.”
Dolly Parton did not make her health sound so dramatic, as she stated that she needed some time to heal. Essentially, she was getting fixed up and recharged so she could deliver the best shows possible. After Freida spoke out, fans were terrified that something more serious was going on. They took to social media to pray for the icon, and now, Dolly is speaking out.

She made a video and noted that it was October 8th, and she was still very much alive. Although there were many concerns and fears for her, she stated that she was not “dead yet.” This made everyone so happy to see that she was still alive and kicking, even smiling. As of now, she is dealing with kidney stones, which have become far worse than anyone expected.
Fans Are Relieved
After Dolly Parton appeared online, and in good spirits, her fans and followers were relieved. They saw her glowing and happy, which is all they wanted. Furthermore, she was filming commercials for the Grand Ole Opry, so that was a sign she was back to work. Freida Parton apologized for scaring everyone, and fans were over the moon to see Dolly:
