Will ‘General Hospital’ & Other Soaps Be On Today, 9/1?

Why Isn’t General Hospital & Other Soaps On Today?
Monday is a big day for soap operas, as it is when the cliffhangers are picked up. Any big events that occurred on Friday get some sort of answer, so when the soaps aren’t on, it is not easy for fans. They do not care for reruns and want the brand-new episodes with continuing stories. Unfortunately, General Hospital, Beyond the Gates, and more could be affected today, September 1st. Although they may appear on the schedule and guide, they will not be new. That is due to the Labor Day holiday, when many won’t be home to catch the show.
It is the last big holiday of summer, and schools are closed. So, it is understandable that not all shows will air new episodes. Beyond the Gates, the newest soap opera, will only air reruns throughout the holiday week. New episodes will pick up on September 8th, 2025, and fans cannot wait. As for General Hospital, an episode from January 2025 will air. However, new episodes return on September 2nd, and it is said to be explosive. These will be the two main shows affected by the holiday. Days of Our Lives will be new, mainly because it airs on Peacock.

If it were still on NBC, it may have been preempted, but viewers do not have to worry. The Young and the Restless will also be all new on Monday, as will The Bold and the Beautiful. It is unclear why CBS is only airing Beyond the Gates reruns while the other two are new. There must be a method to the network’s madness, but at least there is some fresh television.
Have Fans Expressed Outrage?
It does not appear that soap opera fans are all that upset with this twist. They more than likely expected it, and General Hospital can be streamed on Hulu. Therefore, viewers can catch up with whatever they may have missed the week prior. Again, three of the soaps will be new: Days of Our Lives, The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. GH will be new on Tuesday, September 2nd, and Beyond the Gates will resume regular airings on September 8th, 2025.
