HGTV Star Erin Napier Mourns Huge Loss
Erin and Ben Napier have made a career out of turning depressing homes and spaces into happy, vibrant places where everyone wants to be. But in a devastating turn of events, the HGTV stars suffered a huge loss that will take years to recover from.
Erin & Ben Napier Mourn Huge Loss
Erin and Ben Napier are mourning a huge loss in her Mississippi hometown. The couple moved back to Laurel, Mississippi, after their wedding in 2008. They renovated about 50 homes and businesses in the small town over the years. Many of the renovations were featured on the Home Town series and its spinoffs on HGTV.
The couple recently revealed that they have another new show coming to the network. Home Town: Inn This Together features Erin’s real-life friends, Jim, Mallory, and Josh, as they renovate a hotel in Laurel. News of the new show featuring the Napiers comes just weeks after the network canceled several popular shows.

The renovations were completed last week. In a devastating turn of events, the Heirloom Hotel caught fire earlier this week. Erin Napier took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news.
“After so much celebration last week, today my best friends @malraz, Jim, and @joshuanowell lost their labor of love, their dream, @theheirloom.us hotel in an early morning fire,” she wrote.
The post continued, “Before they ever even welcomed the first guest. Praise God, no one was inside. We held each other and watched while the brave fire fighters from the Laurel FD worked for hours to get it under control. Today feels like a funeral. But I know these people. They won’t give up here.”
Hotel Was Renovated For New HGTV Show
Erin Napier’s social media followers expressed their sorrow for the huge loss. The hotel’s stunning renovation was supposed to feature on the new HGTV show. Now that the hotel is gone, will the show still air?
She addressed that in her post. She wrote, “I don’t know what will happen next or if you’ll ever get to see this @hgtv show now. I don’t know much of anything. Pray for my friends and family, please. It is hard to explain how this reverberates through our town and its progress in many ways. But I know God has a plan for this setback. He always knows the way, even when we don’t.”

One fan wrote in response that HGTV should go ahead with the show already filmed and then add an update. “ We want to see the good come from tragedy & “set backs” that are really just launching pads to something better,” they wrote.
If HGTV cancels Inn This Together now, fans will still see the Napiers on TV again soon. A new season of Home Town is expected to air later this year. Season 9 ended in June. Season 10 is reportedly in production now. It’s unclear if the hotel fire will affect the filming schedule.
