Grant Ellis Calls Out Bachelor Nation Fans For Blatant Racism
Grant Ellis was only the second Black Bachelor lead in 29 seasons of the popular dating franchise. Many viewers from the franchise blame that on the head honchos. But Grant Ellis recently took to social media to call out fans, too. He accused them of racism. Keep reading to find out the basis of his claim.
Grant Ellis Shares New Details Of Split With Juliana Pasquarosa
Grant Ellis was a contestant on Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette but was eliminated before Hometown Dates. The network promptly announced him as the next Bachelor, making him the second Black lead after Matt James’ season in 2021.
Fans were initially puzzled by the casting, as Grant wasn’t a stand-out contestant on Jenn’s season. However, they were willing to give him a chance. He immediately turned some viewers off by promoting his new song ahead of the premiere, prompting speculation that he was on the show for fame.
The teasers for the show hinted that Grant was torn between his final two women, Litia Garr and Juliana Pasquarosa. He ultimately proposed to Juliana after sending Litia home. But Litia remained a constant presence in the newly engaged couple’s romance. They were often asked questions in interviews about Litia’s claim that Grant led her on and let her think he was choosing her.

Breakup rumors followed Grant and Juliana since the March season finale. The rumors were proven true earlier this month when Grant and Juliana confirmed the news with separate Instagram posts.
At the time, the former couple vowed to remain friends but kept the details of the split to themselves. But Grant Ellis recently revealed who called the engagement off.
He Calls Out Bachelor Fans For Racism
Grant Ellis has been bombarded with questions since his split from Juliana. He recently addressed a bunch of the questions on an Instagram Live. He said that he’s not interested in dating anyone right now and is focusing on himself. When he is ready, he doesn’t think he’ll date any of the other contestants from his season. He said he doesn’t look back, he only looks forward.

He took to social media again in another video to call out fans of the franchise for their alleged racism. He’s not the first lead to accuse fans of being racist. Matt James and Jenn Tran, among others, were flooded with hateful comments.
“Can we talk about how extremely prejudice Bachelor Nation fans are? I’m a player, I’m this, I’m that. No, I’m black! I’m black as hell,” Grant Ellis said in the short video.
Fans Point Out His Hypocrisy
Many Bachelor Nation fans acknowledge that there is racism in the franchise. They’ve begged for more diversity when it comes to leads. However, they didn’t take kindly to Grant’s accusations.

Several fans pointed out that Grant was a hypocrite for getting engaged to Juliana, who they allege is a Trump supporter.
One Bachelor Nation fan said that they don’t discriminate based on race. “I will continue to treat all contestants equally bad,” they wrote.
Another viewer wrote, “He’s not wrong but he’s still a cornball.”
Do you think Grant Ellis is right about the fans of the Bachelor franchise being prejudiced? Sound off in the comments.
