He appeared on Season 11 and was also one of the heaviest patients on the season, weighing in at 705 pounds. He suffered from neglect after his parents divorced when he was still a child. He also suffered from molestation by a family member. As a result, he developed an unhealthy diet. He was already relying on people around him due to his inability to move. Wess inspired many people due to his dedication during his episode. The My 600-Lb Life star wasn’t only dealing with his weight. He was also going through depression when he began his program. But Dr. Now provided him the help he needed, quickly dropping enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery. By the end of his episode, he had dropped 228 pounds, bringing him down to 447 pounds. However, his journey got even better behind the cameras.
Earlier this year, Wess shared a stunning photo of himself showing off the excess skin all over his body due to his drastic weight loss. He then revealed that he had dropped 500 pounds. He’s now somewhere around 200 pounds, and Wess has been proud of what he has achieved.

Wess Schulze recently took to IG to share new before and after photos of himself, showing off his huge transformation. According to the My 600-Lb Life star, he couldn’t believe he made it, especially after getting hospitalized for Covid-19 four years ago. He revealed that he was in isolation for a week, and he had to depend on the staff for his daily needs. However, Wess used it as inspiration, making a vow to himself that he would never let it happen again. He added, “A year later I had my gastric sleeve. I’m not where I want to be but I am on that path.” Many fans also expressed how proud they are of Wess.

Wess Schulze has been busy documenting his weight loss journey online. The My 600-Lb Life star would often participate in a podcast to share his story. He’s also sharing his recovery from lymphedema. He recently talked about how difficult it was to live with such a condition, adding that it’s a lifelong battle. Wess is now wearing air compression wraps on his legs to help with his recovery. He added, “It’s not glamorous, but it’s necessary—and it’s part of my reality. My wraps are what I can afford because insurance won’t cover them. So here it is.”
