Hoda Kotb Can’t Deny Replacing Kelly Clarkson Rumor
When Hoda Kotb left Today at the beginning of 2025, viewers desperately wanted her back on television. They loved the chemistry that she had with her co-host, Jenna Bush Hager, and have missed her desperately. She has not officially been replaced alongside Jenna and has not even shared if she would want to come back to TV. At the same time, Kelly Clarkson has allegedly been talking about leaving her talk show. Apparently, her heart is just not in it any longer, and no one wants her to stay where she is unhappy. That means new names are floating around to take over her spot.
Hoda was one of the people who were rumored to take over for Kelly, but that was soon debunked. Now, Hoda is singing a different tune after appearing on WWHL with Andy Cohen. Is there a chance that she would be a talk show host and replace Kelly?
“My whole thing with talk shows and all that stuff is that I’m a never say never person. You don’t know what life is gonna bring you.”
Although the sixty-year-old mother of two is enjoying the life she is living with her babies, she also admitted that she loves television. That has long been her passion, so it is unlikely it will ever go away.

Hoda Kotb stated that Kelly Clarkson is incredible and no one can touch her talent. Yet, she also has said this:
“I want to ask you all a real question. Do you think that if I ever came back to TV … do you know the only place I would ever come back is? Right here, this is the spot.”
The former anchor was referring to her spot on Today and how that is where her heart lies.
Bring Hoda On
Hoda Kotb fans loved the idea of her having a daytime talk show. Not everyone was thrilled with the idea of her taking over for Kelly Clarkson, as they adored the first American Idol winner. Yet, seeing Hoda every day was a very special idea and one they could not let go of:
- She should do it! …the hours are better and you only tape half the year.
- We hope not but love her
- love hoda!
- 🥹 daily, please!
Some felt that she should give an “honest” answer, but by the same token, she may genuinely have no idea what the future holds. Kelly has not said whether she will exit anytime soon, as she has a contract through 2026. If she does leave, Hoda would be a great replacement because she has such a zest for life.
