Viewers have been following Tammy Slaton’s journey on 1000-Lb Sisters for years. Recently, the star received the good news that she was approved for skin removal surgery following an impressive weight loss. Fans have since been given a glimpse of Tammy’s transformation thanks to a recent teaser clip.
Tammy Slaton Was Recently Approved For Skin Removal Surgery After A 500-Lb Weight Loss
1000-lb Sisters first came out on TLC back in 2020. Over the years, fans have watched sisters Amy and Tammy through their daily lives and as they tracked their individual health journeys.
Fans have recently seen Tammy reach an important milestone on the show as she was approved for skin removal surgery. This had followed an impressive 500-pound weight loss.
As previously reported, Dr. Eric Smith, who approved Tammy for the surgery, previously praised her hard work on social media. At the time, he shared on Instagram, “She’s earned this. It’s not the end of her journey—it’s a reward for how far she’s come. She’s stayed committed, dialed in her nutrition and I couldn’t be prouder. Let’s go, Tammy!”
TLC has already teased the big reveal of the star’s transformation following the intensive surgery with a clip of an upcoming episode on Instagram. A caption read, “She’s alive! See Tammy’s transformation on #1000lbSisters, Tuesday at 9/8c.”
In the short clip, Tammy’s brother Chris Combs shared, “To be honest, at first look, it’s kind of rough-looking. ‘Cause you see the blood, dried blood. Different things and she looks worn out.”
Many 1000-Lb Sisters Fans Praised Chris For Being His Sister’s ‘Cheerleader’
Christ continued, “But the only thing I was worried about is that [she] was up, awake, and breathing. It’s all I care. Everything else we can work on after that.” He also shared he was happy that Tammy’s “alive and she made it through. I’m ecstatic.”
The clip gave viewers a brief look at Tammy as she appeared to lay sleeping in her hospital bed. Her head was bandaged, only giving a hint of her transformation. Tammy’s sister Amy could also be briefly seen at her bedside.
