Fans Call Honey Boo Boo Out On Lies In Lifetime Movie
Alana Thompson narrated her biopic, I Was Honey Boo Boo, which just aired on Lifetime. Her followers and fans were thrilled to see it, but ultimately were very disappointed. The casting was awful, and no one looked like who they were supposed to be portraying. There was praise for the actress who played Pumpkin Efird (Georgia Small) and the actor playing Sugar Bear (Neil Chinneck). After seeing the film, fans immediately chimed in with their disdain:
- With the exception of the girl playing Pumpkin, the casting in this movie is TERRIBLE! Alana, I hope Lifetime paid you well for this!
- So stupid to do a movie. She just wants money…acting is so bad
- The movie was horrible. It was rushed. The only one they got right was Pumpkin, but they made her skinny. Sugar Bear was ok.
One noted it would have done far better on Netflix, with a bigger budget. However, that was not all that was wrong with the movie. There were some discrepancies that fans wanted Alana Thompson to address. One of them was Alana, living with her older boyfriend, Dralin Carswell. This had been exposed a short while back that Pumpkin’s home was so packed that Alana had to move out. She floated between his home and staying with her sister, Jessica Shannon.

Aside from that, I Was Honey Boo Boo viewers had this to say:
- Alana didn’t even tell the truth in her new Lifetime movie.
It was questioned if Mama June heavily influenced the film, and what was hidden. In any case, it fell flat.
Did Mama June Ruin It?
In I Was Honey Boo Boo, fans got to see how Alana Thompson was Mama June’s little prize. Furthermore, they saw how Alana’s money supported the family, but how June cared more about herself and men. It seemed Pumpkin Efird was always stepping up and doing what she could for her little sister. She even took her for new shoes when June claimed her money was frozen. In reality, she had blown through it. Drug parties were featured, and it was very sad. However, some noted these were all things that everyone already knew and had played out on television. Regarding the truth, a viewer stated this:
- I think June said u can do this and call it payment for all I stole from you type of thing… Alana kept all the money from this fake movie for sure
So, did Mama June not want to pay back all of the money she had stolen, but let the movie go on so she could avoid repayment? June has said that things were not entirely accurate, but the movie is over and done.
