‘LIve’ Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos Share Major Career Change
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have had storied lives, from soap opera stars to the hosts of their own talk show. Recently, the couple has announced another new career change with fans. According to reports, the venture is even something of a family event.
Ripa & Consuelos Have Worked On Many Projects Together, From All My Children To Live With Kelly And Mark
Ripa and Consuelos have hosted Live with Kelly and Mark together since 2023, with Ripa already joining the talk show in 2001. Prior to this both were known for their respective acting careers.
In fact, the two married after meeting each other while working on All My Children. Added to this, Ripa is known for the sitcom, Hope & Faith, while Consuelos is also known for appearing in the drama, Riverdale.
However, the couple recently announced a new project. They’ve developed a scripted podcast series, Summer Breeze, that is being released on Audible.
The series has ten episodes are already available for streaming. Reportedly, as noted by Parade, the series takes Ripa and Consuelos “back to their roots with a soap-opera-esque venture.”
According to a description on Amazon, “When young, struggling screenwriter’s greatest dream turns into a nightmare after her script is stolen by an uber-powerful male producer [Gordon Ready, played by Consuelos], whe [actress Sarah Steele] forms a surprising alliance with a former soap opera star [Carolyn Harris, played by Ripa] harboring secrets of her own.” The two then “devise a daring, twisted plan to seek justice against the producer through the long-running soap opera Summer Breeze.”
The Project Will Have Something Of A Family Reunion For Ripa & Consuelos
They soon transform the producer’s “monstrosity into their art.” Along the way, however, the “scheme takes on a life of its own, blurring the lines between fiction and reality.”
The podcast promises to offer “deception, forbidden romance, and jaw-dropping revelations” with each episode. Things will ultimately build to “an explosive climax worthy of the daytime soap that provides our setting.”
According to a news release, the podcast will be a real family event for Ripa and Consuelos, as their son Michael is part of the cast. Other cast members include Zack Gilford, Talia Balsam, Adriane Lenox, Grey Henson, and Ally Sheedy.
Ripa and Consuelos shared in the release that, “Our relationship started on All My Children, so revisiting the world of soap operas, this time through a whole new medium, was a full-circle experience. It’s a fresh take on the genre we love, with fun surprises, familiar voices, and something for both longtime soap fans and audio drama lovers alike.”
In addition to acting, Ripa and Consuelos, as well as Albert Bianchini, serve as executive producers for Milojo Productions. Ripa and Consuelos named the company in honor of the first two letters of their three children, Michael, Lola and Joaquin.
