Before the When Calls The Heart Season 12 finale episode, Hallmark announced the series is renewed for Season 13. The big story was the cliffhanger when Elizabeth, Nathan, Allie, and Little Jack rushed to leave Hope Valley for Cape Fullerton. There, Elizabeth’s boy can get the proper diabetes care he needs.

I have seen a few comments online of people expressing interest in Melissa coming back and being Bill’s love interest but not the overwhelming majority like this post suggests. The more accurate description would be to say “Show’s creators want fans to want Melissa Gilbert to come back next season as Bill’s love interest.” They want fans to want this because this is a decision they have already made and promoted to the network as being a way to drag more traffic to the show. The fans are not that invested in these two characters and this isn’t to say that we don’t like the actors portraying the characters! I thought MG being Georgie was a miscast. The character was such a forced character storyline and they had to way over sell it trying to make fans like it. MG and JW didn’t have onscreen chemistry in my opinion and they story wasn’t written well for their characters either! I love Melissa’s Gilbert as Laura on Little House but no where else! Fans want better storylines for the characters they are already invested in not MORE new characters that take storylines and screen time away from beloved characters. This is the truth that the SR, creators, producers, and network keep covering their eyes and stopping up their ears to.🙄
