‘American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe Shutting Down Business

Thanks to American Pickers, many fans were introduced to Mike Wolfe and his retail store, Antique Archaeology. However, Wolfe recently shared an update concerning his business. He also recently opened up about future plans, including something he’s got planned for fans.
Mike Wolfe Recently Shared Bittersweet News Concerning Antique Archaeology
Wolfe is best known to audiences through the series American Pickers. On the show, he and a co-host travel throughout the United States in search of lost treasures.
As seen on the show, Wolfe owns the retail store, Antique Archaeology, which has its home base in LeClaire, Iowa. Recently, the store branched out to a Nashville location.
However, Wolfe recently announced that the Nashville retail store will be closing on April 27. Wolfe shared the news on social media. As he wrote, “Well, Nashville… it’s time.”
“After nearly 15 amazing years, we’ve made the tough decision to close the doors of our Antique Archaeology store here in Music City. This place has meant the world to me — not just the brick and mortar, but the people. The community. The visitors from all over the world who came through those doors, shared their stories, and reminded me every day why I started this journey in the first place.”
“I’ve been so proud to be a part of this neighborhood, this city, and this chapter of life. But sometimes, even when something is good, you have to pause and ask yourself where your time is going. And where your heart is calling you next.”
The American Pickers Star Also Teased What His Next Plans Are
“This isn’t goodbye — it’s just a new rhythm. I’ll forever be grateful for every moment in that Nashville space, and for all of you who made it more than just a shop. You made it home.”
Wolfe also revealed he would be at the store during its final days. He shared, “The last day will be next Sunday the 27th. I’ll be there Saturday from 11-4 to see everyone.” During his appearance, he will sign autographs and pose for pictures with fans.

Wolfe also spoked about the store’s closing with The Tennessean. He shared he wanted to spend more in in LeClaire as his mother still lives there. He shared, “Everything I’ve ever known is there,” he said. “I want to drive on roads I’ve driven on my whole life. I want to be around things that are familiar. And I want to be back there more with my little girl and with my mom.”
That said, he admitted the closing of the 14-year-old store was bittersweet. He previously told ten full-time employees about the news on April 17.
At this time, Wolfe isn’t slowing down. He reportedly has a new television series in the works and is involved with converting vacant spaces in Columbia, Tennessee. He shared, “I want to be involved in projects that inspire me and challenge me. Retail was such a challenge here to prove myself.”
“Once we did, it was, ok, I can check that box. It’s bittersweet to close the store in so many different ways. But with what I’m doing with Columbia, I’ll stay active here in Tennessee.”
